Certification
Amorim Cork Composites’ main activity is the production of cork granules and cork composites.
In its context, customer satisfaction and the satisfaction of the remaining stakeholders is decisive for the sustainable development of the Organisation, which takes on continuous improvement and availability of the necessary resources as determining factors to ensure the return on invested capital, as well as the possibility of choice for future generations.
ACC favours innovation projects that boost the added value of its products, the safety of people and goods, and efficiency in all its facets.

We assess the hazards of our activities, seeking to reduce risk, thus preventing injuries, wounds and damages, as well as occupational accidents and diseases, promoting safe and healthy working conditions.
We consult our employees to foster their engagement and participation.
Energy has a decisive impact on the product’s industrial cost, which is why we use and consume it in a balanced way, choosing energy efficient products, devices, technologies, and services.
We favour the use of cork dust, generated in ACC’s value chain, as biomass, making a decisive contribution to minimising greenhouse gases and reducing our carbon footprint.
We use operational control practices that contribute to the efficient use of energy, thus maximising energy efficiency.
We favour the use of cork from well-managed forests, certified through the forest certification system from the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®- C022338), and/or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC/13-31-286).
We comply with the requirements of the FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody standards applicable to our activity, including social and Occupational Health and Safety requirements, as well as the legal requirements applicable to the cork trade.

We undertake to implement practices seeking the performance and security of the supply chain to reduce/mitigate the risk of losses, theft, smuggling, and/or terrorism that may jeopardise the security of the global supply chain.
The Board of Directors and the Executive Board are responsible for providing the information and resources necessary for the pursuit of the management objectives and for the success of this Policy, which are crucial for ACC’s sustainable development.
