Expected to be opened in 2019, the new Four Seasons chain hotel in the city of Bangkok is part of a vast renovation project of one of the last large plots of land available on the Chao Phraya river front, one of the main rivers of Thailand, which crosses the country’s capital.
In addition to the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River, which will have nine floors and 312 rooms, the development also includes a residential tower with 73 floors, and various commercial and leisure areas, stretching out across a total area of more than 5 hectares.
Underscreed: more silence and more comfort
To meet the high standards of acoustic performance expected in the project of the new Four Seasons building in Bangkok, a cork underscreed with recycled rubber was applied to the entire area of the hotel, including common areas. The flooring was then finished with laminated wood and ceramic material.
With the purpose of reducing the propagation of impact noise and improving the acoustic insulation of buildings, an underscreed is a resilient sublayer applied to the floor, between the structural slab and the screed, during the construction process.
In addition to the acoustic comfort, the use of an underscreed also influences the thermal performance of a construction, decisively contributing to the improvement of the well-being and quality of life of those who use the building.

The underscreed from the Acousticork range selected to be applied at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River combines agglomerated cork with recycled rubber, making it a product that is 100% recycled and sustainable.
It stands out thanks to its high performance in the reduction of the propagation of impact noise and thermal insulation, as well as its durability and ecological profile.
