General project presentation

Located near Hung Hom station, the CTS (HK) Hotel offers a sophisticated 4-star hotel experience with over 500 rooms and suites.

In addition to the aesthetic component, the development attaches great importance to acoustic and thermal performance, which are essential for guests' comfort.

Underscreed: more silence and more comfort

Recognised for their acoustic and thermal properties, Acousticork by Amorim underscreeds were integrated into the hotel's construction to effectively reduce the transmission of impact noise between rooms, guaranteeing a quiet and comfortable environment for guests.

Incorporating cork-based underscreeds into this type of development brings numerous advantages that improve the guest experience. Cork is a 100% natural, reusable and recyclable material and, from an environmental, social and economic perspective, it is one of the most versatile materials in the world. As well as being lightweight, resilient and offering excellent levels of thermal and acoustic insulation, cork has a negative carbon footprint, helping to reduce the environmental impact and decarbonise the construction sector.

In this project, U85 underscreeds from the Acousticork by Amorim range were used. When applied to the floor between the structural slab and the screed during construction, they significantly reduce the propagation of impact noise through the building structure.

The selection of this solution is in line with the hotel's eco-conscious initiatives. By choosing a sustainable material such as cork, the CTS (HK) Hotel not only prioritises guest comfort, but also contributes to the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of its carbon footprint, setting a positive example for the hotel industry.

In addition to the acoustic comfort, the use of an underscreed also influences the thermal performance of a construction, decisively contributing to the improvement of the well-being and quality of life of those who use the building.
