Inga Sempé
Parisian-born Inga Sempé graduated from ENSCI-Les Ateliers (École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, Paris) in 1993. Since then, she has built up an impressive and diversified portfolio of projects ranging from furniture and lighting to small objects and fabrics. A scholarship holder at the Villa Medici, Académie de France in Rome from 2000 to 2001, she opened her own studio in Paris in 2000, collaborating with Cappellini and Edra. Currently Inga works with leading international brands such as Ligne Roset, Moustache, LucePlan, Wästberg, Gärsnäs, Hjelle and Almedahl's. Awarded the Grand Prix de la Création en Design de la Ville de Paris in 2003, in that same year the Musée des Arts Décoratifs of Paris held a solo exhibition dedicated to her work. She won the Best Designer Award in 2011 by ELLE DÉCOR International. Inga Sempé's designs play on functions and volume with elegantly understated lines highlighted by a careful choice and treatment of materials.
