Portuguese cork in the spotlight in one of the world´s leading design exhibitions

In the scope of a partnership with Vitra Design Museum, Amorim Cork Composites has produced 3,200 agglomerated cork pieces for the exhibition, Home Stories: 100 Years, 20 Visionary Interiors.

The partnership between Amorim Cork Composites and Vitra Design Museum (VDM) - one of the world’s most important design museums – has brought over 3,200 agglomerated cork pieces to Weil am Rhein, Germany. The blocks are being used in the exhibition Home Stories: 100 Years, 20 Visionary Interiors.

They have made it possible to create structures that covered about one third of the entire exhibition space. The supports, designed by the Italian design, architecture and research firm, Space Caviar, are being used to showcase design articles, decorative products and items of furniture.

The collaboration between Amorim Cork Composites and VDM is supported by Amorim’s mission to add value to cork in a different, qualitative and innovative manner, in particular, by supporting various artistic, educational and scientific projects.

These initiatives help disseminate the versatility, multi-disciplinarity and innovation potential of this unique raw material - a typically Portuguese material, that is 100% natural, ecological, renewable, recyclable and reusable.
